avoid stress, burnout & emotional pain

Men’s Health Issues

Navigating the complexities of life can often feel overwhelming, especially for men who are accustomed to shouldering burdens alone. It’s essential to recognize that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Men’s Health Issues

Many men come to therapy feeling unsure if their concerns “count” or if they should be able to handle things on their own. Many professionals are used to solving problems, pushing through stress, and holding themselves to high standards. On the outside, things may look successful, yet internally there can be pressure, burnout, self-doubt, or a sense that something feels off despite “doing well.” The reality is that men experience stress, emotional pain, self-doubt, and life transitions just like anyone else—often while feeling pressure to stay quiet, strong, or unaffected.

As stress lingers it can turn into overthinking, or difficulty slowing down; burnout or emotional exhaustion; perfectionism, self-criticism, or fear of failure; work–life imbalance and strained relationships; questions around identity, purpose, or what’s next; and feeling disconnected, irritable, or emotionally shut down.

These experiences are common and understandable – yet not always talked about. The goal of therapy is not to ‘fix you.’ It is simply to uncover what is blocking you from being the man you want to be.

How I can help men confront health issues

In our work together, we focus on practical tools, honest reflection, and meaningful change. I help you gain clarity, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop realistic ways to move forward that fit who you are and the life you’re living.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting. Just showing up is a great first step.

How I Work With Clients

I employ a variety of evidence-based methods and techniques tailored to your unique needs. Each approach, whether mindfulness-based stress reduction or cognitive behavioral therapy, is designed to help you develop greater self-awareness and cope with life's challenges.

What My Clients Say

“The logical discussions, the insight into why I do things the way I do them, and the homework all helped me focus on what was going on in my life at the time.”
“My therapist provided tremendous guidance to us as we navigated some very difficult events and situations that were thrown at us during our first years of marriage. No matter how we came into it, we always left feeling as if both of us were adequately heard, yet came away with a better understanding of each other’s feelings.”

-MK & EK

“I had never been to therapy before and did not know what to expect. Although it was much more difficult then I anticipated, it was very helpful. My therapist did a great job of making me feel comfortable, trusted, and heard.”
I like how collaborative the process has been, and that Justin took the time to pair me with the right counselor with a compatible therapy technique that would help me achieve my goals. Deborah has been great, and I already feel like I’m making meaningful progress and adjustments after just a few sessions.
